194th Wing Vice Commander

Colonel Charles G. Jeffries serves as Vice Commander of the 194th Wing, Camp Murray, Washington.  He assists the Commander for the command and control, oversight, training and equipping of 19 units comprised of 953 Airmen serving at three locations across Washington State. The 194th Wing provides combat mission-ready forces to support national defense requirements worldwide, and emergency response, relief, and recovery operations throughout Washington State.

Colonel Jeffries entered the Air Force after receiving his commission in 1991 as a graduate of the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at the University of Miami, Florida.  His experience on active duty in the Air Force includes software development for airborne battle management systems for the Airborne Command Post “Looking Glass” and the National Emergency Airborne Command Post.  He served as the Deputy Chief of requirements for the Air Force Satellite Control Network at Los Angeles Air Force Base, California, where he was responsible for space command and control systems acquisitions to support Department of Defense, NASA, and national reconnaissance satellites and space vehicles.  Colonel Jeffries jointed the Washington State Air National Guard in 1999 and his experience includes information operations, intelligence support, and combat communications.  He was the inaugural commander of the 143rd Information Operations Squadron, and then the 252nd Cyberspace Operations Group.  He voluntarily deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and was stationed at the International Security Assistance Force headquarters in Kabul, Afghanistan.
